A personalized massage appointment may draw from several methods rather than following the same sequence every time.
Hands-on massage techniques
Pressure, pace and position can be adjusted to support relaxation, mobility or activity-focused recovery. The strongest pressure is not automatically the most effective.
Movement and remedial exercise
Simple movement suggestions can help carry the goals of treatment into daily life. Recommendations should be practical, understandable and appropriate to the person’s capacity.
Complementary modalities
Cupping, kinesiology taping, acupressure, Indian head massage or MPS therapy may be considered after assessment. Each has specific precautions and should be used with informed consent.
The common thread
Good care is collaborative. The therapist brings clinical judgment and options; the client brings lived experience, goals and ongoing feedback.
